Our SolidWorks Mechanical Design Applications Specialist program prepares you to be a proficient 3D Parametric Solid Modeler & Detailer using the industry-standard 3D Mechanical Computer-Aided Design (MCAD) tool, SolidWorks. Learn to create 3D models and produce technically accurate drawings of electro/mechanical parts, mechanisms and assemblies while learning industry-standard drafting & modeling practices. Optional electives include core training in Creo (AKA Pro/ENGINEER) and Inventor. Students successfully completing this program will receive the industry-recognized Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) Certificate.
You'll be taught industry-standard skills and tools used by major discreet manufacturers and product development companies. Core SolidWorks courseware includes: SolidWorks Introduction, Essentials for Parts and Assemblies, Drawings, Efficient Modeling and Design Intent, Composer, Intro to eDrawings, Parts & Drawings CAD Drills, Advanced Parts, Model Based Definition (MBD), Advanced Assemblies & Assembly CAD Drills, Sheetmetal & Weldments, Surfacing, Advanced Surface Modeling, Surfacing CAD Drills, Mold Tools, Plastic Design, Mold Design CAD Drills, Manufacturing: SolidWorks CAM, Ve-I CSWA Practice Exams, SolidWorks: Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) Prep + Certification Exam, and Special Project Work to create a Certificate Level Portfolio.
Various in-demand and unique electives are also included in this program that will increase your employment marketability over other traditionally trained candidates. Many CAD “Guru’s” end up becoming CAD System Administrators so we have put together a group of electives that will give you the tools to meet that challenge, if you so wish. Topics include Windows Operating System (OS) Fundamentals, CompTIA A+ Certification Prep which covers basic to advanced computer hardware and configuration concepts, Advanced Windows Performance Troubleshooting, Windows Server Administration Fundamentals, Security Awareness Training for Employees, Microsoft Excel for Project Management, and Microsoft Visio - an awesome diagramming and documentation tool. Additional beginner to advanced Microsoft Office related topics include Microsoft Teams, OneNote, Outlook, Word, Excel, Visual Basic Applications (VBA) Programming, SharePoint, Access, PowerPoint & Project. We also have various IoT & AR courses including Unity: A Beginner's Guide to Augmented Reality.
As an added benefit, if you are currently unemployed, you may qualify to have the entire program paid for, 100%, without any out-of-pocket costs to you.
