The Manufacturing Applications Specialist program focuses on attaining or updating applications level skills used by companies in managing, improving, and automating their core manufacturing and production processes. If a student does not already have a thorough understanding of the core processes, applicable electives are available and can be taken as pre-requisites (for details on this 4-part “Manufacturing Processes and Sciences” series please see our Production Technologies program).
In this program, you will start off learning an industry standard CAD tool that is used in many manufacturing environments for creating assembly documentation, redlining part and assembly drawings for required changes, redesigning for manufacturability and assembly, and documenting as-manufactured and as-built status of shipped products.
During the development of your training plan, you will be able to choose from a list of over 300 related electives that include topics such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, SketchUp, Creo and MasterCAM, Visio, Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Tableau, SQL, PLC Programming, Arduino, R-Programming, Robotics, SAP, Microsoft Project, Teams, Flow, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), plus more!
Students will also be offered the opportunity to learn skills and concepts in the emerging field of Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing). Through our partnership with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) you will have the opportunity to test and receive an industry-recognized Additive Manufacturing Certification from the SME. You will also be given the opportunity to select and test for industry-recognized credentials in various subjects, all included in the price of your program, such as the SME Certified Manufacturing Associate (CMfgA) and SME Certified Manufacturing Technologist (CMfgT) credentials.
While the primary focus of this program is to teach applications, you will also have access to additional discipline related electives such as a series on the Introduction to Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma plus much more! Please see our Advanced Manufacturing Technologies program for a list of available topics.
Our extensive list of electives and credentials will increase your employment marketability over other traditionally trained candidates.
As an added benefit, if you are currently unemployed, you may qualify to have the entire program paid for, 100%, without any out-of-pocket costs to you. We are WIOA, Trade Act and Section 30 Approved. We also offer various other financing options.
Our counselors are always available to help put together a customized program to meet your needs.
Upon completion of the program, you may obtain industry-recognized certification including, but not limited to:
Certified Manufacturing Associate (CMfgA)
Certified Manufacturing Technologist (CMfgT)
Certified Manufacturing Expert (CMfgE)
Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA)
Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP)
Certified SolidWorks Expert (CSWE)
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
Lean Manufacturing
SME Additive Manufacturing Certification
Certifications in Microsoft Office 365
and more.
