Building & Construction Design Applications Specialist

Our Building & Construction Design Applications Specialist Certificate program focuses on teaching the required applications used in the building and construction trades, including architectural and civil design roles. Modern infrastructure upgrade requirements put a strain on the availability of existing resources with these updated skills. Existing technologies and tools available are also rapidly expanding - creating large gaps between existing skill sets and the knowledge required today to meet current infrastructure demands. Throughout this comprehensive program, we will explore all of the subject matter and applications necessary in these industries.

First, you will study to become a proficient 3D Parametric Solid Modeler & Detailer using an industry standard 3D Computer Aided Design tool called Revit.  You will learn to create 3D models and produce technically accurate drawings of building and other civil structures while learning industry standard drafting & modeling practices. Core topics will be Revit Essential Training: Architecture, Advanced Modeling & Detailing.  You will also learn the other industry standard tools AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, and SketchUp.

Students will have the opportunity to earn an industry recognized Certification Autodesk Certified Professional Credentials (ACP) in Revit for Structural ACP, AutoCAD Drafting & Design ACP, and Revit for Architectural ACP.

Subject matter also includes a deep dive into using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini and many other tools in your day-to-day job functions. Additional subject matter may include AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, AutoCAD 2D & 3D, Navisworks, Revit, Building Design & Construction, Construction Management, Planning, Cost Estimation, Job Sites, and Methodologies.
