Advanced Manufacturing Technologies

Description

The Advanced Manufacturing Technologies program focuses on how companies manage, improve, and automate their core manufacturing and production processes.  If a student does not already have a thorough understanding of these core processes, applicable electives are available and can be taken as pre-requisites (for details on this 4-part Manufacturing Processes and Sciences series please see our “Production Technologies” program). 

In this program, you will start off learning skills and concepts in the emerging field of Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing)Through our partnership with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) you will have the opportunity to test and receive an industry-recognized Additive Manufacturing Certification from the SME.  

Additional core courses include a series on the Introduction to Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma. Topics covered include Lean Manufacturing Overview, Continuous Process Improvement: Managing Flow, Continuous Process, Improvement: Identifying and Eliminating Waste, Developing a Lean Culture, Total Productive, Maintenance, 5S Overview, Cell Design and Pull Systems, Intro to Six Sigma, Troubleshooting, Conducting Kaizen Events, SPC Overview, Metrics for Lean, Process Flow Charting, Strategies for Setup Reduction, Total Quality Management Overview, Management Tools: Problem Solving, Management Tools: Product and Process Design, Value Stream Mapping: The Current State, Six Sigma Goals and Tools, Value Stream Mapping: The Future State, Maintaining a Consistent Lean Culture, Transforming Lean into Business Results, Measuring Lean Systems. 

Next, you'll learn about Quality Fundamentals and review topics like Quality Overview, ISO 9000 Review, ISO 9001:2015 Review, Approaches to Maintenance, Process Design and Development, Product Design and Development, Production System Design and Development, Equipment/Tool Design and Development, Intro to Supply Chain Management, Quality and Customer Service, Conducting an Internal Audit, TS 16949:2009 Overview, IATF 16949:2016 Overview. 

You will finish your core training with a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Professional Certification Prep course and will be given the opportunity to test for the industry-recognized Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, all included in the price of your program. 

 During the development of your training plan, you will be able to choose from a list of over 250 related electives that include topics such as Robotics Fundamentals, Cybersecurity for Manufacturing FundamentalsLean Six Sigma Healthcare Green Belt Certification Prep + ExamLean Management Certification Prep + ExamTQM (Total Quality Management) Certification + Exam plus many courses deep diving into CAD/CAM applications like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, Creo and MasterCAMProduction Fundamentals, Python, LabVIEW, Tableau, Data Analytics, SQL, Statistics, Data Visualization, PLC Programming, R-Programming, Cybersecurity, Process Improvement, Risk Management, Agile, Scrum, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, Kaizen, GD&T, Robotics, Fundamental to Advanced Mathematics, Microsoft Applications, and much more. 

Our partnership with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) allows our qualified students to also attain the industry-recognized SME Certified Manufacturing Associate (CMfgA) credential and SME Certified Manufacturing Technologist (CMfgT) credentials
